Stephanie Meyer

Stephenie Meyer (born December 24, 1973, in Hartford, Connecticut) is an American author best known for the globally successful young adult vampire romance series, Twilight. Raised in Phoenix, Arizona, she graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in English literature. Her writing career famously began after a vivid dream in 2003, which she transformed into her debut novel.

Published in 2005, Twilight tells the story of teenager Bella Swan and her forbidden romance with vampire Edward Cullen. It quickly became a cultural phenomenon, followed by New Moon (2006), Eclipse (2007), and Breaking Dawn (2008). The series has sold over 100 million copies worldwide and was adapted into a blockbuster five-film franchise starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

Meyer has also written The Host (2008), a science-fiction romance for adult readers; The Chemist (2016), a thriller; and Midnight Sun (2020), which retells Twilight from Edward's perspective. She later founded Fickle Fish Films, producing adaptations of her own works.

Credited with revitalizing vampire fiction for a new generation, Meyer profoundly shaped the landscape of young adult literature. She lives in Arizona with her husband and their three sons, and continues to write and develop film projects.
