The Beasts of Tarzan, the third novel in Edgar Rice Burroughs's Tarzan series, follows Lord Greystoke as his old enemies, Nikolas Rokoff and Alexis Paulvitch, kidnap his wife Jane and infant son Jack. Marooned on a remote island, Tarzan regains his primal instincts and allies with fierce jungle companions—the great ape Akut and the panther Sheeta. Escaping to the African mainland, he journeys through dangerous wilderness with the native warrior Mugambi, pursuing the villains. Through treacherous swamps and savage encounters, Tarzan races to rescue his family, discovering that his wild heritage makes him a powerful protector of those he loves.
