The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis follows four siblings—Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy—who are evacuated from London during World War II to an old professor's country house. While playing hide-and-seek, Lucy discovers a magical wardrobe leading to Narnia, a land trapped in eternal winter by the evil White Witch. When Edmund betrays his siblings to the Witch, the great lion Aslan sacrifices his own life to save him. Miraculously resurrected, Aslan leads an army against the Witch, defeating her and restoring spring to Narnia. The children are crowned kings and queens, ruling wisely until they unexpectedly return home.
