Proverbs

In a small village where every household hangs carved proverbs above their doors, young Mara discovers that her grandmother's sayings begin coming true—word for word. When the proverb "the bird that flies highest sees the storm first" appears on their door the morning her brother disappears, Mara embarks on a journey to uncover the origin of these words. Along winding roads, she meets a blind carver who claims the proverbs choose their bearers, and a scholar who insists they are warnings. As the sayings grow darker, Mara must decide: are proverbs wisdom to live by—or destinies to escape?
