Pollyanna Grows Up

Pollyanna Grows Up

Pollyanna Grows Up (1915) by Eleanor H. Porter is the sequel to the beloved classic Pollyanna. The novel follows the irrepressible Pollyanna Whittier as she journeys to Boston, bringing the sunshine of her Glad Game to lonely, sorrowing Mrs. Carew, where she befriends a poor, imaginative boy named Jamie. In the second part, Pollyanna returns to Beldingsville, gradually regains her ability to walk, and blossoms into a charming young woman. Facing new trials, puzzling mysteries of identity and fortune, and the devotion of two very different suitors, Pollyanna discovers that true gladness, like growing up, requires courage—and at last finds enduring happiness.
