Cards on the Table

Cards on the Table is a classic mystery novel by Agatha Christie featuring detective Hercule Poirot. The eccentric Mr. Shaitana invites Poirot to a dinner party, boasting that he has collected four guests whom he suspects of having committed murder—unpunished and undetected. Alongside them are four investigators: Poirot, Superintendent Battle, Colonel Race, and mystery writer Ariadne Oliver. During an evening of bridge, their host is stabbed. With four suspects, each possessing motive and opportunity, and only the card games themselves recording everyone's movements, Poirot must apply his deep understanding of psychology to unmask which player is the murderer.
