Jonathan Livingston Seagull, written by Richard Bach, tells the story of a young seagull who is different from his flock. While other gulls spend their days fighting for food, Jonathan is passionate about flight, practicing daring maneuvers and pushing his limits. Condemned for his nonconformity, he is banished from the flock. In solitude, Jonathan perfects his flying skills and eventually transcends to a higher plane of existence, guided by wise gulls. There, he learns that perfection has no limits. Ultimately, he returns to his former flock to teach others the joy of self-discovery, perseverance, and boundless freedom.
