Amid the excitement of the Yule Ball and growing tensions with his best friend Ron, Harry unknowingly becomes part of a sinister plot. The tournament's trophy proves to be a Portkey that transports him to Voldemort, who regains his full power. After fellow champion Cedric Diggory is murdered, Harry escapes and brings news of Voldemort's return.
