Armageddon 2419 A.D. is a science fiction novella by Philip Francis Nowlan, first published in 1928. The story follows Anthony Rogers, an American engineer who falls into suspended animation from radioactive gas in 1927 and awakens five centuries later. He discovers that Mongolian invaders, the Han, have conquered America, forcing survivors to live as free-roaming forest tribes. Armed with futuristic technology like rocket belts and disintegrator rays, Rogers joins the resistance and meets the brave warrior Wilma Deering. Together they fight to liberate America from tyranny. The novella introduced the iconic hero Buck Rogers and helped launch the American science fiction genre.
