Kidnapped

Kidnapped

Kidnapped, Robert Louis Stevenson's classic adventure novel published in 1886, follows sixteen-year-old David Balfour. Orphaned after his father's death, David journeys to the house of Shaws to claim his inheritance from his miserly uncle Ebenezer. Instead, the treacherous uncle arranges for David to be kidnapped and sold into servitude aboard a ship bound for the Americas. After a shipwreck on the Scottish coast, David allies himself with Alan Breck Stewart, a daring Highland Jacobite. Together they flee across the Highlands, wrongly accused of murder. Through perilous escapes and an unlikely friendship, David ultimately fights to reclaim his rightful heritage.
