Nicholas Boothman

Nicholas Boothman (1946–2022) was a Canadian author, motivational speaker, and former fashion and advertising photographer, best known for his books on interpersonal communication and rapport-building. Born in England, he moved to Canada and established a successful photography career before turning his attention to studying why some people connect instantly with others. His experience behind the camera taught him that success depended on establishing trust and rapport within seconds.

His breakthrough came with "How to Make People Like You in 90 Seconds or Less" (2000), an international bestseller translated into many languages. Drawing on principles of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), the book teaches readers how to create genuine connections through body language, tone of voice, and attitude. He followed this success with "How to Connect in Business in 90 Seconds or Less" (2002), which applied his techniques to professional networking, sales, and leadership. Another notable work, "Convince Them in 90 Seconds or Less" (2010), focused on the art of persuasion.

Boothman's signature concept—that people form lasting impressions within the first moments of meeting—made his books popular in both self-help and business circles. Widely featured in major media outlets, he delivered corporate training and keynote speeches worldwide, helping millions improve their communication skills.
