Green's debut novel, Looking for Alaska (2005), won the Michael L. Printz Award in 2006. He followed it with An Abundance of Katherines (2006) and Paper Towns (2008), the latter adapted into a 2015 film. In 2012, he published The Fault in Our Stars, a moving story about two teenagers with cancer that became a global bestseller and was made into a successful film in 2014. His other notable works include Turtles All the Way Down (2017), which explores mental illness, and his first nonfiction book, The Anthropocene Reviewed (2021), a collection of essays.
