The Cruise of the Jasper B. is a comic adventure novel by American humorist Don Marquis. It follows young Clement Clytie Mifflin, who, spurred by an old family prophecy that any Mifflin commanding a ship will win fame and fortune, purchases the dilapidated schooner Jasper B., moored near the village of Snook's on Long Island. With an eccentric crew and his Japanese valet, he becomes entangled with a gang of criminals led by the mastermind Loge, who seek hidden treasure and menace the lovely Lady Agatha Fairhaven. Blending farce, romance, buried treasure, and slapstick seafaring escapades, the story sails toward a cheerful ending of victory and love.
