Bach rose to international fame with his 1970 novella "Jonathan Livingston Seagull," a fable about a seagull seeking self-perfection through flight. Despite being rejected by multiple publishers, the book became a phenomenal bestseller, selling millions of copies worldwide and translated into dozens of languages.
In 1977, he published "Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah," another philosophical work exploring the idea that reality is shaped by one's beliefs. His autobiographical book "The Bridge Across Forever" (1984) chronicles his search for true love, while "One" (1988) continues his exploration of parallel lives and metaphysical connections.
Other notable works include "A Gift of Wings" (1974) and "Running from Safety" (1994). In 2012, Bach survived a serious plane crash, which inspired his later memoir "Illusions II."
Bach's writing continues to inspire readers with its uplifting messages about freedom, love, and the limitless potential of the human spirit.
